Accessibility

Since its inception, Museum Night Fever has aimed to involve young people in museums. The programme of the event is specifically created by young artists, collectives, youth centres or art school students supervised by the museums. Through these various cartes blanches”, these talents dust off the sometimes rigid image of museum institutions.

Brussels Museums is continuously working towards more inclusive museums and structural change in museum institutions through the OPEN MUSEUM programme.

As you know, our main goal for Museum Night Fever is to make sure everyone can fully enjoy this special night. We know that accessibility during such event can be challenging.

That’s why, for the past three years, we’ve been teaming up with local experts to make the museums and the event as accessible as possible. We work closely with Access And Go, Esenca, and Access-i, who help us assess the accessibility of the museums and activities and raise awareness.

Consult the Accessibility page to get all the info about Museum Night Fever and accessibility.

Durability

In order to reduce the ecological impact of a mass event such as Museum Night Fever and to address the issue of carbon emissions in the cultural sector, we are setting up a sustainability charter this year, which will lay the foundations for annual improvements. This work is being carried out in collaboration with EventChange (asbl Pastoo).

Favouring soft mobility for workers and the public, reducing and treating waste appropriately, reviewing the production of goodies in a sustainable manner, adjusting the production of communication media and working with local partners and local businesses for the event are all eco-actions through which we wish to contribute to sustainable development and encourage museums to adopt these practices in their daily lives.
